Camino De Santiago Planning using YouTube

While planning our pilgrimage to the Camino De Santiago, we were blessed to find tons of information available already from a variety of Camino YouTubers. These folks have put a lot of time and effort into sharing their experiences with us. We are especially blessed for those that brought camera gear (and drones) with them to capture these special moments.

Practical Tips for Planning a Camino

We found Rob’s Camino when the algorithm suggested a video about food on the Camino. We knew he was an expert when he shared that he gained weight while walking the 800 Km. He uploads videos weekly on a variety of topics, from practical to spiritual and emotional. His delivery is smooth, and endearing, with a pleasing Australian accent.

Camino as a Hiking Trip

Dixie from Homemade Wanderlust is an accomplished long-distance hiker. She walked the Camino a couple of years ago and shared her experiences, with many practical hiking tips. One topic that is always needed is how and what to pack for the Camino. Here is where Dixie shows her expertise:

The spiritual side of the Camino

The Camino Guide, aka Jeremiah Gibbs, leads groups to walk the Camino. He shares many of the practical tips but also shares his experiences on the spiritual side as well.

Ivar Rekve’s YouTube

Ivar Rekva runs the Camino De Santiago Forum, which is one of the best online forums for information about the Camino and a great online store for buying guide books and Credentials (Passports that all pilgrims carry to document their Camino). He is located in Santiago de Compostela and his videos have that local flavor. He covers topics like Covid updates, albergues, bus stations, etc. I like his walk-throughs and interviews with pilgrims.

Couple’s experience on the Camino

Lisa and Josh are a couple of Americans that are taking a year off work to travel the world. They walked the Camino last year and shared their experiences together. It seems like they decided relatively spontaneously to walk the Camino and didn’t overthink the preparations, showing it can be done.

Prayer Requests

Do you have a prayer request? Please let us know and we will pray for you on our next pilgrimage.
